A Virtual Tour of Spring Valley Roses Nursery and Gardens

Scene 2

Walking down the hill and turning left, you'll notice that an old building foundation has been filled with roses. The stone and block walls provide support for climbers and also shelter the plants from winds. This spot contains some Hybrid Perpetuals along with Climbers, Shrubs and Rugosas.

These fiesty little birds can raise up to three clutches of babies in one summer, which means they spend a great deal of time hunting for food for the growing babies. The parents are always bringing back little green worms -- the kind that like to devour rose leaves. Wrens can put a real dent in the insect population, and they grace our gardens with their wonderful songs from early spring until August.
