Pinky Winky™ has such a cute name, that we just had to offer this wonderful new hydrangea! It's a super-easy shrub to grow that's adaptable to most growing conditions from. Pinky Winky™ is also super hardy to -40° F!

But, the real attraction is the blossoms! They are a two-toned color with white and pink flowers. The flowers are massive, growing 12 to 16-inches long! Flowers start a whiter color and turn a darker pink as they age. They make great cut flowers, both fresh and dried.

Pinky Winky™ has upright growth on sturdy stems that are easily pruned to shape. It's a member of the Hydrangea paniculata family, so the stems don't dieback to the ground in the winter. We've found that the sturdy stems and dense growth are great for birds -- they build their nests in the branches and find shelter behind the leaves.

Easy to grow, doesn't have problems with bugs and disease, produces loads of blossoms and and winter hardy to Zone 3. What a great plant!

What you'll receive: 2-year old, field-grown plants with 12 to 18-inch stems with multiple branches and a strong root system. They should bloom the first year that they are planted. Shipped bareroot (no soil or pot) and dormant (no foliage). Learn more about our plants.

What's a "bareroot" plant?

Photo of bareroot plant"Bareroot" is a term that describes how a plant is shipped to you. A bareroot plant is not in a pot, and is usually dormant (not actively growing). See the photo to the right that shows what a bareroot rose looks like. The bareroot plants that we ship to you were harvested in the fall and placed in cold storage over the winter to keep them dormant. In the spring, we ship the bareroot plants to our customers, from early April through mid May.

Bareroot plants are easy to grow. We include planting instructions with your order. When you receive your plant, take it out of the packing material and place it in a bucket of water so that the roots are completely covered. Let the roots soak for 4 to 24 hours, then plant it in your garden. Full planting instructions with photos are available on our planting shrubs page.
