Geraniums, Lilacs, Roses and Hostas.
In the conservatory, more than 450 camellia cultivars are seen
from winter through spring. Visitors can also see Orchids (such
as Odontoglossums and Miltonias), and 2,000 other plants.
July is "Lily Month" at the park. Visitors can enjoy
various gardening courses and tours around the park. On the third
Saturday of each month, seasonal plants are introduced to visitors
on a tour.
Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Gardening
Yurigahara Park works hard to protect the ecology of living
things in the park while improving the amenity of the park and
the prosperity of various ornamental plants. To improve plant
health, the park uses beneficial microorganisms and compost made
from plant wastes generated at the park. Biological controls instead
of chemicals are used to manage pests and disease at the park.
